Irish Polling Report

A place to discuss Irish opinion polls

Edge of their seats

with 5 comments

Twitter seems to have exploded ….

FWIW, the 1pm tallies are starting to look like the following to me;

FF 22 seats

FG 70 seats

LP 39 seats

SF 12 seats

GP 1 seat

OTH 22 seats

A lot of seats up in the air though, and transfers will be more than unpredictable….

  1. 70 FG seems low compared to some of television analysis, though in fairness i don’t think i’ve heard any predictions of totals based on tallies rather than exit poll.

clearly so far, exit poll has slightly underestimated FF in Dublin, as spotted by John Bowman an hour ago on RTE

    • That seemed to be the case to me nationally (I had expressed the view that the moe was too much to take regional votes at face value).

Have revised FG to 73, but a few soft ones in there, but we’ll see!

  2. Vincent Browne seems off the wall: 78FG, 17FF and 16SF!!

Irish Times: FG 77, Labour 35, and FD 24, SF 13, sounds about most sensible to me so far

    • Class! loved the tweet from ‘Colm Tobin’ who said it was the earliest hour VB had been up since the Cuban Missile Crisis!

Finlay on now saying 38-42 for LP, that’s better than me! šŸ˜‰

      • i noticed that. i think it’s a good policy to trust predictions of people wearing tweed!!

Colm Tobin is in flying form today, his Conor Lenihan stuff was excellent. Definitely getting followed, “going forward” *hangs head in shame*
